$55 per class pre-paid monthly

Part One of Foundations will now also be offered on Tuesdays, 6:30 to 9:30pm taught by Dina Dalby
The best way to describe the importance of this class is with an analogy to music: If you want to be a great jazz player - you need to study scales and classical foundations. The same is true in my opinion, to become a great painter. With the impressionists and later contemporary artists, classical painting techniques were practically abolished. Trends changed and rather then incorporating centuries of painting knowledge, art schools basically “threw the baby out with the bath water.” During the Renaissance, painting techniques were passed down from master to student. I can't tell you how many students come to me who have had years of art school, have never been "taught" how to paint! But their frustration ends at our front door! Read More...

-So what's different about our absract class? Well first off most of you know that we teach classical foundations and I am the biggest art snob in town. So to find an absract artist who does not throw the baby out with the bath water and actually has a well worn system based on sound art theories is a difficult task. Until I met Scott Yeskel. I have a lot of respect for Scott's work and his teaching method. In this next session be prepared to do the 15 minute study-abstract bootcamp! Later you will work into larger finished paintings. Because of Scott's classical background, you will learn modern twists on traditional materials. Both oil and acrylic painters welcome, all levels...read more
