Step One: I toned the canvas with a gray acrylic and after it dried I switched to oils for the rest of the painting. Here, you can see my drawing is very simple and I used a light ochre to draw with.

Step Two: The basic block in- NO DETAIL. Just the shapes and values.

Step Three: More information, developing the ear and nose.

Step Four: Time to indicate the eye and mouth, finish the nose and add more color.

Step Five: Time was up and I was happy with my one hour demo.

My Palette: Titanium white, Naples Yellow, Yellow Ochre, French Vermillion, Alizarine Crimson, Transparent red oxide, Ultramarine blue, Ivory Black
