Young Artist Summer Camp: Week 1

Explore the many forms of art in this 5 day pre-teen/teen workshop!

Day 1 Classical Drawing with Cadence Chi
The instructor will walk students through still life setup, teach value, tone and compositional drawing as well as the use of classical Bargue drawings .

Day 2 Mono Print Making with Juri Umagami!
Mono print day starts with instructor's demo on how to create unique prints. Students learn about how to paint on plates and transfer to paper using the press.


Day 3 Abstract and Still Life with Scott Yeskel
We will explore various techniques and ways to approach abstract painting and still lives. We will learn about color mixing, composition and form while experimenting with simplifying shapes in painting.

Day 4 Plein air with Jessica Falcone
On-Location Painting en Plein Air (locations TBD at a later date)
Paint at beautiful LA locations like beaches, parks, or cityscapes, apply studio lessons to real-world painting experiences and get feedback and guidance from an experienced artist.

Day 5 Exhibition Day with Juri Umagami
Parents are invited to join us for light refreshments as students show their work in a mini gallery walkthrough. Learn how to prep for shows, what to wear and celebrate your artistry!
