How do your classes work and how do I enroll?

All of our classes meet weekly and are 3 hours unless otherwise noted. We have several options for classes - For ongoing classes, which meet continously throughout the year, you can start anytime and have the option to pay by the week, month or quarter. The longer you enroll for, the less you pay per class.
 
We also have session classes which have fixed dates and may only happen a few times a year. The dates for these classes will be mentioned on the class page. You can enroll by clicking the Enroll Now buttons located on each class page online, calling us at 310-927-2436 or coming into our studio!

What ages do you offer classes for?

We currently offer classes for kids/teens who are middle-school aged and older and adults of all ages. Nearly all of our classes are mixed aged but specifically for kids/younger teens we recommend our Saturday Beginning Drawing and Painting Foundations classes.

Question 3

I have only a little art-making experience, where do I start?"

We love beginners and have several recommedations for you in terms of your experince level and goals on our Courses by Level page. Please head there for more information.

I am an experienced artist and have taken classes before, what do you offer for me?"

We have many proffesional and emerging artists at our school who are showing and selling their work but continue to take classes and workshops with us. Question 5

Do I need to bring my own art supplies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Unless noted on the class page all classes require you to purchase supplies. We assume that students will continue their art-making outside of class, so the recommended supplies are essential. For a list of supply lists and art stores click here.

What do I do if I have to cancel or miss a class?

We have a cancelation and make-up policy which you can find in on our academy policies page. In terms of scheduling a make-up please read our make-up faq here.  Note - If your schedule does not allow you to come weekly you can pay per class in many of our classes.

Question 7

Where do I park?

Accepted Answer

We have several convenient parking options as well as a loading zone in front of the school if you would like to drop off any materials before parking. There is free parking along Motor Ave. less than half a block from our school by the bridges.
 
There is also metered parking directly in front and beside the school. If you wish to park in a lot you can pay a small fee to park at the IMAN center located less the a half a block from our school. Please be aware of posted signs.
