Course Description

This painting course (open to drawing) emphasizes the accurate representation of the live model and construction of the Figure in oils. With a strong focus on composition, drawing, shapes, value, edges, and color mixing. Each student will be taught the necessary techniques to complete a painting from start to finish. Working from direct observation, students will use a limited palette as they continue to develop their painting skills. Students will learn how to set up an organized palette and work from dark to light to achieve harmonious color.
